BLM, Pandemic & A Need to Just Get Away
When 2020 ended, we all thought 2021 would be different. It was a very difficult and stressful year for everyone, but especially so for American’s of African descent. Things have opened up, but not much has changed. With the COVID vaccine and masks optional travels are still a little weary of traveling too far from home.
If you are in need to just get out and get away here are a few suggestions that we have:
- Staycation, get out of the house, but maybe stay close to home. Hotels and airbnbs are taking extra steps to ensure that properties are cleaned and time is made in between guests for rooms to have the proper amount of time to reduce risk of the spread of COVID.
- Stay outside. We took a trip recently to a local California Lake, where we spent the extended weekend holiday with family. Everyone was able to be together, while also social distancing at various lengths that were comfortable for each. Camping in the great outdoors is a great way to travel while staying safe.
- Take a road trip. Domestic travel is hot right now. A bit further than a staycation, without the hassles of COVID tests at $150 a pop. Take a road trip to the next city or state, hangout for a while, snap some great photos, relax on the beach and get that mindset refresh that you really need. Sometimes all we need is a change of scenery.
